Eden is a red row. This I know for sure: they told me at the door to come hide away just when I like. Locked inside a box of glass, they won’t tell us how to act. Feed us ’til we’re fed and dead. Or even only sleeping, that’s enough to fill our heads with lots of very pretty lights & neatly folded evenings ’til an ultraviolet rise. One for sorrow & one for the road. Did you really think that we could make it on our own? I feel hollow with nowhere to go. Sometimes I think tomorrow never makes it here at all. It’s empty in the master’s hand so people run in circles just to keep some kind of plan. Like a key leads to an empty room, so the sound of this suburban round is out of tune. It’s ringing in my Christian ears & singing praise a heaven that could only raise the fear to strike it in a devil’s heart. I guess that makes us heavenless if heaven bound is where we rest. Eden is a red row. Needless numbers on a road. Even this has got to go.
